Hippo Sound System is a Bristol-based collective by DJ Hiphoppapotamus. The group blends elements of world music and sound system culture, creating a high-energy and psychedelic global bass sound. Their music draws from Afro/Latin rhythms, jazz, hip hop, house, breaks, dub, drum and bass, and jungle. Their ensemble features lead vocalist Feline, who engages and energises audiences by delivering messages of peace, love, and unity. In their debut album Origins, Hippo Sound System collaborated with various artists, including Aziza Jaye. The album showcases their signature fusion of ancestral rhythms with modern dance music, resulting in an enriching experience for both body and soul.
